1. Inbuilt image editor-now you can re-size ,crop ,rotate the images while you insert tem to the post. Even later you can edit the images from the image gallery/media library.
2. Batch update for plugins – you might have seen notices for few plug ins frequently about the latest updates ,wordpress 2.9 let you to update all plug ins same time. just click the check boxes and choose update.
3. No more”Delete”  option for posts and comments newly “trash” introduced- you should click trash in order to remove any posts or comments from your blog ,this will be moved to dust bin inside ,if you later desided to resotre them ,easily can do it.
